There’s been something strange happening in Naples, lately. I’ve seen it and am guessing it’s due to climate change. It’s highly localized, and it takes place at the same time every week…

It snows!!

Yes—-you read that right! It snows every Thursday night during the holidays on Third Street South! The snow showers start at 7:00 pm and last 15-20 minutes.

Cars and sidewalks are covered with the white stuff! Children (and some adults:) play and dance in it, and scoop it up!

It’s just good, clean family fun—-the “snow” is made of soap flakes.

Does it get any better than that? Believe it or not, yes—-there’s music, too. In fact, there’s music from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday nights through December 26th. After that, you’ll have to wait until the third Thursday of every month—-you get it—-the Third Thursday on Third. There’s music from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on those days throughout the year.

The fun began, this year, on November 25th with the 42nd Annual Tree Lighting and of course, a visit by Santa. The snow continued every night that week until November 30th. After that, SWFL’s tropical snow storms hit Third Street South on Thursday nights at 7:00 pm through December 26th.

So hurry down to Third Street South by 7:00 pm on Thursday nights and get ready to clean off your car—-because after that, if you want to see snow—-you’ll have to head up north.

And in Naples—-there are no shovels needed.

Enjoy this beautiful holiday season!

Until next time,
